Master of Managment

The Haskayne Master of Management (MMgmt) is a 10-month full-time program designed for recent graduates (less than 3 years post-degree work experience) with a non-business bachelor's degree. Whether you want to expand your career opportunities within your undergraduate field of interest, pivot to explore new career paths or start your own business, the Haskayne Master of Management can help you reach your full potential.

Haskayne MMgmt graduates see immediate career outcomes. 87% of MMgmt alumni got a job within 3 months of graduation. On average, MMgmt alumni experienced a $22,000 increase in salary. Success rates are based on the MMgmt graduate survey, class of 2020-2021.

Entry Requirements

To be considered for admission an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Completion of a four-year non-business bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum admission grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 calculated over the last 60 units of university-level courses at the time of application (GMAT not required).
  • Students with an admission GPA between 2.70 and 3.0 may be considered for admission based on a combination of admission GPA and an acceptable GMAT score. Admission is based on the following equivalent achievement score: [(GPA x 200) + GMAT] >/= 1150.
  • Less than three years of full-time employment after graduation since the completion of an undergraduate degree.
  • Résumé submission.
  • Applicants for whom English is not a first language must achieve either: A score of 97 or higher on the internet version of the TOEFL; OR A score of 7.0 or higher on the academic version of the IELTS.
  • Students will be asked to answer two short essay questions touching on their motivation for pursuing the Master of Management and the key skills learned in their undergraduate degree that will benefit them during the program. Responses are limited to 250 words per question.
  • You may be invited to complete an interview as part of the admission process. You will be notified by Haskayne’s Graduate Admissions Office if an interview is necessary after we receive and initially review your application.

Financial Aid

Students in the Haskayne MMgmt program are automatically considered for over $100K in scholarships available. Alberta Treasury Bank (ATB) offers a Student Line of Credit* of up to $25,000 to help cover tuition, books, supplies, and living expenses.

Scurfield Hall (main University of Calgary campus:  Scurfield Hall is the primary site of the Haskayne School of Business and is located at 215 Campus Place N.W. The school occupies the entire building, which is situated in the southeast corner of the main University of Calgary campus. (Campus map)

Haskayne has a new building coming late Fall 2022: Mathison Hall. This beautiful new building will be located adjacent to Scurfield Hall and dedicated to the business school. Mathison Hall is designed with students in mind and includes 12 new classrooms with state-of-the-art technologies, dozens of breakout rooms and generous informal seating areas for students to study and socialize.

Accommodation

There are various options for incoming postgraduate students:

  • On-campus residence: Crowsnest Hall is a new graduate residence building, featuring study rooms, social and academic lounges, a community kitchen and plenty of green space.
  • Off-campus housing: The Student Union provides a list of rental accommodation (shared apartments, basement suites, houses or condominiums for rent) that are off-campus.
  • Homestay Program: Living with a Canadian family is an inexpensive option and a great way to improve your English and learn about Canadian culture.
  • Family residence: The Family Housing community is a specially designed community residence available to those living with their spouse/common-law partner, with/without children and single parents.
