The Stockholm School of Economics is a Scandinavian institution combining a world-class business network with business education and research.

SSE was established in 1909. Although it was established as a business school, there was, from the beginning, a strong focus on economics, in both the school-affiliated research and the school's educational offerings.

The school has a storied history, with one of its most well-known scholars, Bertil Ohlin, having received the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1977, which he shared with British economist James Meade.

The school's main campus is in Sveavägen in central Stockholm.
